I got the idea to create a restaurant finder app after reading countless posts on r/Boulder asking for help finding a place to eat—whether for a date, a celebration, or just to satisfy a specific craving. My goal was to create a lightweight, easy-to-use guide to help people discover the best restaurants in Boulder, along with a few gems in neighboring towns.
A Note on AIThis project was built with the help of AI—from writing code and crafting restaurant descriptions to generating images. I know there are mixed feelings about AI, but I think it's remarkable that you can have an idea, collaborate with an LLM, and create something functional that people can actually use.
Boulder's Food SceneBoulder isn't New York, San Francisco, or Chicago—and that's okay. Our city has its own character, charm, and challenges. Running a restaurant here isn't easy, with high costs, seasonal fluctuations, and thin margins. Rather than comparing Boulder to bigger cities, I hope this guide encourages you to embrace what makes our local food scene special.
